Hitting the road got one Red Deer Business rolling. Mark's Mobile Computer Services has been offering on-site technical support for IBM-compatible computers for the past 14 years. Calling the WestPark Shopping Centre home, MMCS assists homes and businesses with parts and service.

Taking it to the streets has spelled success for this small business. "I found a real need in Red Deer for on-site technical support," says Mark. "People are more comfortable in their own environment, which in turn makes communication better. 

I can often better assess the kind of support needed if I go to the environment in which the problem is occurring."

IBM technical training and a long history of selling and servicing computers in the Red Deer area has equipped Mark with the knowledge necessary to offer network trouble-shooting, computer-training and installations. Mark got the idea to offer on-site services years ago while working in the installation department of a major electronics supplier. More often than not he found himself installing car stereos for customers right in their own driveways. Business has been booming at MMCS ever since. "As we grow, so does the size of our Yellow Page Ad" laughs Mark. " I'd like to have a fleet on the road one day but for now I'm taking it one service vehicle at a time."
